Is 16 The Right Age To Be Making Long-Term Decisions?

The Next Step & Decision

At the age of 16, we are faced with making important decisions regarding following a particular career path or not.

The key decision is between education or work. Education has become a normalised pathway into teenage & early adult life. But what's the right course to take?

It's not easy to make a decision. Everyone else is excited about their next route, but others feel lost. Remember that not all people in the world move at the same pace.

You Are Not Your Past

You might be regretting the decisions you made at 16 but don’t blame yourself too much. At the time, those choices might have been the right & clearest ones to take.

It's not the end of the world if you aren't happy with your choice of subjects, degree, or career. Take your time, find an alternative that suits you, & don’t give into the negative thoughts.

Life revolves around our decisions, but life is always dynamic & shifting. You may be living a certain lifestyle today, but tomorrow that may change. Focus on living, not dreaming.

“Decisions are the hardest thing to make, especially when it is a choice between where you should be & where you want to be.”

Find Yourself Via Experiences

Whatever the choices we make or when we make them, the outcome is for us alone.

One of the advantages of being young is the freedom to make mistakes. There are less constraints & responsibilities. Don’t hesitate to change - you’ll find yourself once you step out of your comfort zone.

Life isn’t about who gets rich & successful the fastest. It’s about the choices we make that lead us to our ideal life. Do what feels right for you at that moment.
