McDonald's Overseas Set To Release Vegan Happy Meal??! Is This Actually Real 😂
It's been a good few years for vegans, with restaurants constantly adding new dishes and menu items to accommodate for people living a healthier lifestyle. It's especially good to see that even larger chains like McDonald's are starting to adjust to this positive trend too...
Happy Meals Go Healthy
The long accused unhealthy fast-food giant McDonalds is finally set to release a brand new meal option - for vegans!
Yep, you read right. Starting January 2020, the new "Veggie Dippers" will be released to the general public. What are they made of? Good question. Apparently it'll be a blend of red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas, all wrapped up in the signature McDonald's crispy breadcrumbs.
These dippers will come as part of a meal, served with vegan fries and a drink - or you can opt for a Veggie Dippers Happy Meal, which will come with two dippers, a vegan-friendly side (vegetable bag, fruit bag or fries) and water / Fruit Shoot.
Both these options are expected to cost you less than € 5.
Thomas O'Neill, who is the head of food marketing at McDonald's in the UK & Ireland, was quoted saying the following: "In the last 12 months we've seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald's, so it is time for the brand famous for the dippable McNugget to launch a dippable option for our vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian customers."
"The Veggie Dippers are a delicious addition to our menu and we're looking forward to seeing what customers make of our first vegan Extra Value Meal and Happy Meal."
