Decathlon Are Opening A New Store In Qormi And Are Looking For New Student Employees 💪

Decathlon is the BIGGEST sporting goods retailer in the world. With over 1500 shops spread over 49 countries, the French sporting giant has decided to add one more outlet to their army in Qormi, but this only had 1 problem. No man is an island, and for every problem, there is a solution (as long as your problem is wanting to live forever, then you might be a little shit out of luck there).

The bottom line is that Decathlon are looking for employees, and if you are student you might be able to help them out.

Decathlon Are Hosting A Recruitment Day

On the 31st of July, Decathlon are going to be hosting a recruitment day at Luxol Sports Club in Swieqi. The recruitment day aims to bring sports and work together by combining interview sessions with sports activities such as volleyball, football, and basketball, and having mid-day and evening breaks provided with refreshing drinks. The exact schedule can be found below.

To be able to attend the event, you will need to sign-up through their event's website. All you have to do is submit your name, surname, email, phone number, DoB, and your CV so when you go for your interview, you won't need to bring anything with you.

If you are accepted, then you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that you will be able to attend the recruitment day.

What Decathlon Are Looking For

Decathlon are looking for, yes you guessed it, people interested in sports. While you may not be competing in the Olympics under the Decathlon flag, having a passion for sports and energetic activities will go a long way considering you will be working for the world's biggest sporting goods retailer.

Alongside your sporty attitude, you also need to be able to speak to clients fluently and confidently while forming a good relationship as you help them through their experience at the store. This goes hand-in-hand with an ambitious mentality, which is also another key aspect that applicants should have; a willingness to push yourself onto the next challenge.

Another quality that should be present are flexible hours. Decathlon are looking for employees who can be a bit more flexible with shifts and are able to work weekends, which for a student shouldn't be the hardest thing in the world.

I Have All Of Those Qualities. So What's The Job?

Well, the job title is Sport Advisor, but that doesn't really say too much about the position itself. The role has 4 main responsibilities that can be achieved by following a development plan:

  • Contribute to the trade policy of your sport

  • Be an ambassador of the brands products and services

  • Accompany customers through their purchase

  • Make decisions which will affect your departments layout

In simple terms, you will work in the store as you help customers, make sales, and stock the shelves while you arrange them in an aesthetically pleasing way all while you contribute to the policies of your specific sport.

The contract is on a part-time weekly basis, perfect to balance with your studies.

Don't forget to sign up for Decathlon's recruitment day here, and good luck on your interview!
